after checking all the gaps it was time to weld. this panel fought me to the end I had it on and off the car around 5 or 6 times until I got it right

removed the right side 1/4 , taillight panel and the outer wheel house and half of the inner. car was hit before and poorly repaired with sloppy welding and tiger hair.

this is where the skin meets the door. I use the same method here as everywhere on these. It is ok to still see alittle of the weld if the panel is straight

don't try and grind the welds off real fast take your time and skip around also. I have seen panels warped from the heat of a grinder also.

I make small stitch welds about every 2 inches skipping around so as not to warp the panel. until it is welded solid. take your time with this it takes pratice

tack the panel about every inch first. if you look close you can see there is hardly any gap where the skin meets the 1/4

while the panel is in place for the first fit , take a scribe and mark the 1/4 where the edge of the skin is . The strips with the screws need to be numbered so they don't get mixed up . cut the 1/4 on the scribed line and replace the skin.

first fit of the skin shows the small 1 inch strips of metal placed on the panels to hold them in place. look closely and see the strips I drill an 1/8 " hole in both ends of the strips and then screw the skin in place
